- The heat in sunlight comes from infra-red rays. Until the advent of Descente's SUNSCREEN technology, garments became hot because they absorbed these infra-red rays. SUNSCREEN increases the surface reflectivity of the garment, which helps to reduce both the temperature of the garment itself, and the temperature inside the garment.
- Descente is calling the blocking of harmful ultra-violet rays "UV Cut". There are two ways of expressing this UV reduction factor.
